MATE is a young artist who lives in Paris. After studying Graphic design and being involved in the French graffiti scene he finally started making posters and stickers as mode of expression. If you already walked in the streets of Bastille or Chatelet disctrict you’ve probably noticed his trademark, a die marked with a M.
The 10th september of this year, MATE had his first exhibition ever at Collectie gallery.
For this occasion the artist used a lot of varied supports. Canvas, photo, video, poster, even stained glass and all that entirely realized in black & white for the purpose to ” reveal the essential to catch the eye of the passersby” .
Mate recognizes to be influenced by Pop Art, JR and Shepard Fairey.
